There are better options out there. Waiting time is long especially on Saturdays. Expect to spend minimum 3 hours end-to-end on Saturdays from registration to payment. Sometimes it can take up to 5 hours as well. Administration can be improved. Prices are not cheap either considering the wait time. There is a registration fee of RM15/- for every visit. Sometimes have to wait for up to 1 hour for your turn for tests.
I am very angry at the fee that I have to pay every time I step into the hospital. My maid just went for a cataract plus glaucoma surgery (I am paying for all the cost incurred not insurance). Every day we see the doctor to check her recovery. And every day, I am charge with this registration fee of RM15. I was told this is the cost of administration work (taking the file, putting in doctor notes into the patient folder) and registration. How much time does it take to do such simple tasks? Does it justify the cost of RM15 every single day that I come into the hospital? Does it require a special person to do the job? To put in perspective, the minimum hourly wage rate of an employee is (RM5.77) and the hourly rate of a staff nurse is (RM15.46). So how can the registration fee cost RM15? Most of the patients that comes into the hospital are older patients. So, imagine after having a surgery and having to see the doctor daily, how much would it cost them? I pity them as sometimes they don’t understand the billing and sometimes, they don’t have much of a choice. I feel that we, patients, are being cheated. So please, when you go to the hospital, do CHECK your bill before paying. There may be more hidden cost that I have not yet seen.
Parking spaces in the hospital compound need to pay RM5, but always full. Or, u can park at nearby public parking space, and walk to the hospital, which will take you arounf 3 to 5 minutes. There are many doctors and consultants. Very helpful.
Took my grandmother who had impaired (shadow) vision and her vision worsened after surgery by a certain doctor in the hospital. We switched doctors in the same hospital, and after 2 weeks of intense medication, it does not look like real improvement will be possible (only prevention of further deterioration). Would not recommend THONEH unless you personally know someone who had the SAME eye problem as you, and the specific doctor solved it for them.
Don't come here if you have an eye emergency!! Had bleeding in my eye. It was swollen & painful. Had called ahead to check if they could treat me. When I arrived staff deemed my case not an emergency and refused my request to have an MO check my eye. I waited for an hour before deciding to seek emergency treatment elsewhere. Staff detained me to ask me to pay their registration fee! Ridiculous!
